St Johns Ambulance - Popcorn

Cinema adverts are good because they're big and you usually get to stuff your face shamelessly as you watch them. This new cinema spot from the St. Johns ambulance really jumps out though from the norm.

It features a family all lovely and happy about to watch a film, and prepping some popcorn. Then as the little girl eats some popcorn, she starts choking. Critically unaware of what to do, the mother pleads with daughter in her arms for somebody to help. It's then that a seemingly random viewer in the audience yells "I can help!" before leaping into the film and using first aid to save the girl.

It could easily be real to that audience as anybody there could choke on popcorn. Fun might not be the appropriate word, but a clever use of cinema advertising nonetheless!

Karl Bloody Pilkington.

This man. I like this man. He's quite funny. He's funny for his irreverent view on things and basic Mancunian nature. I was a bit surprised to hear his voice on the new Freeview plus adverts though as that doesn't really seem to be his 'bag'. He couldn't even be arsed promoting one of his own books!

But I think he works on an advert thats targeted at getting people unfamiliar with mod-cons like TV recording devices. "If a sloth sounding man can explain this to me, then it's not that hard!" might indeed be the thought process of somebody watching. Either way, it's tons better than the silly Freesat one's that are (for some reason) set in a spacestation!

Jamie Woon - Night Air

This song has been soothing me on these dark nights home from work. Switch it on and feeeel!

Personified Cars. It's always messed up.

This is a proper awesome spin on their old infamous ad for the Skoda Fabia. It's not such a bad idea seeing as how popular it was. A mean old advert this is. Similar idea to the old Ford Ka idea which also weant along the meaner evil route. It showed a Ka's sunroof beheading a curious car. Heavy Stuff I know. Not too sure I ever saw the latter in the mainstream though!

I Am The Rules - Autumn 2010

I loved this advert when it was out. Unfortunately though I didn't have a blog to post it. It features loads of sportsmen and women (I only recognise Andrei Arshavin being the football centric macho man I am) in what looks to be hyper real representations of their sport and culture. It's all in an attempt to prove with Nike you are your own rules. You can do this by buying things from Footlocker too. Isn't advertising blunt like that?

The music is a definite toe-tapper too. The ad disappeared and the song wasn't quite the same in my iTunes. It's one of a few good sports campaigns this year, lest we forget Nike's tremendous 'Write the Future'

I am Mike Leech - Hear me Roar!

Good day to you! This is my blog. I'll blog things here and you will hopefully enjoy them!

Just to ease myself in, and as a test post, here is a picture of Blackpool legend Ian Holloway.
